Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Full Member of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA). Serves as a reviewer for several conferences and journals related to signal processing, and since 2018, an Associate Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letters and EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech and Music Processing.
Research Experience
  • Awarded a 'Campus of Excellence' post-doctoral fellowship to work at the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) in 2010. Visiting researcher at Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, Berlin, Germany, in 2009 and 2011, working on signal processing for spatial audio. Since 2011, he has been a Full Professor at the Computer Science Department of the Universitat de València.
Education
  • Received the telecommunications engineer degree from Universitat Politècnica de València in 2006; M.S. in telecommunication technologies in 2007; and Ph.D. in telecommunications in 2009. His Ph.D. dissertation was awarded the Ericsson Best Thesis Award on Multimedia Environments by the Spanish National Telecommunications Engineering Association (COIT). Completed his Ph.D. studies with honors under the University Faculty Training program (FPU).
Background
  • Research interests include signal processing and machine learning algorithms for sound source localization, source separation, speech enhancement, room acoustics, array signal processing, spatial sound, and acoustic event detection. Specializes in digital signal processing, particularly in audio and multimedia applications.
Miscellany
  • Affiliate member of the IEEE Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing Technical Committee, council member of the Audio Signal Processing Technical Committee of the European Acoustics Association (EAA), and a member of the EURASIP TAC on acoustic, speech, and music signal processing.
