An important issue is to develop a fundamental infrastructure for processing real-world information collected from various sensors (such as camera sensors, wearable sensors, wireless sensors, etc.) as well as to realize practical applications (such as safety and security surveillance, information retrieval, seamless interaction between human and machine, education/learning support) for supporting human life. His professional field covers Information Science and Electrical Engineering.
