Academic Achievements
  • She has published over 30 papers in top journals such as Neural Networks, TKDE, and Pattern Recognition, as well as top conferences like ICML, CVPR, and ECCV. She has received one first-class prize for the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award and one second-class and third-class prize for the Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award. She serves as a reviewer for several international journals and is a member of the program committee for various conferences.
Research Experience
  • After graduation in 2012, she joined the faculty at UESTC and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014. In 2016, she worked as a visiting associate professor at the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for six months. She has led many national and provincial-level research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Soft Science Research Program of Sichuan Province. She also participated in the State Key Program of NSFC and the National Key Research and Development Program of China.
Education
  • She received her B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering and B.Ec. degree in finance from UESTC in 2004. She obtained her M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Information Engineering from UESTC in 2007 and 2012, respectively. From 2009 to 2011, she visited The Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), as a jointed educated Ph.D. student, supervised by Fernando De la Torre Frade and Jason M. Saragih.
Background
  • Her research interests include computer vision and machine learning, with a focus on deep generative models, deep discriminative models, interpretable machine learning, Bayesian deep learning, and face-related analysis. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).
Miscellany
  • She is the primary instructor of the provincial first-class undergraduate course 'Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence' and the excellent graduate course 'Machine Learning'. Her students have gone on to pursue further studies at prestigious universities both domestically and internationally, including Carnegie Mellon University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Tsinghua University, or work at well-known companies in China, such as Baidu, Face++, and Hikvision.
