Currently a Professor at MIT, affiliated with the Statistics and Data Science Center (IDSS), Department of Brain & Cognitive Sciences, and Laboratory for Information & Decision Systems. The research group currently focuses on: Reinforcement Learning and Decision Making, where data are collected actively and feedback is limited; Online Learning, aiming to develop robust prediction methods that do not rely on i.i.d. or stationary nature of data; Statistical Learning, studying the problem of learning with i.i.d. data.
Background
Research interests include Machine Learning, Statistics, and Optimization. Focuses on formalizing the process of learning, analyzing learning models, and developing new learning methods. Major research areas include online prediction, decision-making, and reinforcement learning. Recent interests also cover understanding reinforcement learning and decision making, neural networks and overparameterized models, as well as large language models.
