Academic Achievements
- Teaches undergraduate courses: Programming I, Programming III, and Information System Security; postgraduate courses: Information System Security, Network Security, Digital Forensics, and Security in Mobile and Wireless Networks.
Research Experience
- Conducts research in the areas of secure multi-party electronic transactions and document protection, public key cryptography and certification infrastructures, web security and privacy, security in sensor networks, digital forensics, mobile application security, and ICT4D.
Education
- Received a B.Sc. Special Degree in Computer Science (First Class Honours) from the University of Colombo during the period from 1993 to 1997. Obtained a Ph.D. in the area of Computer Security from Stockholm University during the period from 1999 to 2004.
Background
- Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka on December 15, 1971, and lived in Wellamadda, a small village completely destroyed by the tsunami on December 26, 2004, at 9:36 a.m. Studied at Balapitiya Sidhartha College, Ambalangoda Dharmasoka College, University of Colombo, Stockholm University, and George Washington University. Currently working as a Senior Lecturer, Academic Coordinator for the Master of Science in Information Security Program, and Advisor for the Center for Digital Forensic at the University of Colombo School of Computing.
