Resume (English only)
Academic Achievements
  • In his thesis, he proposed, designed, and implemented reservoir computing architectures (RNNs) to model several intelligent capabilities in mobile robotics such as navigation and robot localization through learning and embedding dynamical systems from the robot environment data. Participated in multiple research projects, including one on autonomous driving in urban environments via imitation learning.
Research Experience
  • Joined SnT at the University of Luxembourg as a Research Associate in 2016 to work on an industrial research PPP project for fraud detection on big datasets of energy distribution networks using machine learning techniques (RNNs and importance weighted predictive models). From 2012 to 2016, he also taught undergraduate and graduate students topics on artificial intelligence at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
Education
  • Master's Degree: Computer Systems Engineering with a major in Intelligent Systems from Halmstad University, Sweden; PhD: Computer Science from Ghent University, Belgium.
Background
  • Research Interests: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Robotics. Professional Field: Computer Science. Brief Introduction: Currently a professor of Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Automation and Systems at Federal University of Santa Catarina.
Miscellany
  • Has experience in web development as a software architect, having developed two vertical search engines: for real estate properties - imohoo.com.br (2009) and www.imofox.com.br (2012), and for natural treatments and healthy recipes - natvim.com (2015).
