Received the NSF CAREER award in 2004 and the UIC College of Engineering Teaching Award in 2012; published numerous papers and authored the book 'Models and Algorithms for Biomolecules and Molecular Networks'; developed several software tools, such as one for analyzing functional correlations between brain regions affected by ADHD and another for un-gerrymandering US political districting maps.
