Held a faculty position at the Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics; spent several years as a postdoc at MIT and did a short postdoctoral stay at EPFL; currently Full Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Head of Institute for Operations Research at ETH Zürich.

Background
Research interests include Combinatorial Optimization and its applications, Theoretical Computer Science, and Graph Theory. Focuses on designing fast algorithms for complex optimization problems using a variety of techniques such as matroids, submodular functions, and polyhedral methods.
