Academic Achievements
Co-recipient of the 2001 and 2012 IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society’s Barry Carlton Award for Best Paper; recipient of the 2008 Fred Nathanson Young Engineer of the Year award. She has served as a member or chair of the technical committees for several international conferences such as WDD07, EUSIPCO 2006, etc. Edited special issues for journals like 'Advanced Signal Processing for Radar Applications' in the IEEE Journal on Special Topics of Signal Processing.
Research Experience
From December 1997 to May 1998, she was a visiting research scholar at Georgia Tech Research Institute, Atlanta, USA, conducting research on radar detection in non-Gaussian backgrounds. Since 1993, she has been with the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Pisa, where she became a Full Professor in December 2016.
Education
Graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1993; received a Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the same university in 1998.
Background
Her research interests include radar detection, signal processing, estimation, and detection theory. She is an IEEE Fellow and has made significant contributions in these fields.
