Research Experience
Led development of XAI systems for non-expert users, including the EPSRC-funded CHAI project for AI-enabled smart homes, trialed in real homes in early 2023
Developed interactive systems providing global, local, and counterfactual explanations
Pioneered XAI approaches for graph neural networks, reinforcement learning, and time series ML models
Explored the interplay between XAI and security
Built multi-agent, data-driven event reasoning frameworks to correlate heterogeneous events in distributed complex environments for situation awareness
Applied research in intelligent cyber-physical systems, smart homes, and smart city energy/transport management
Conducted theoretical research on uncertain information modeling and fusion, event correlation and reasoning, belief modeling and revision, online planning under uncertainty, and multi-criteria decision making under uncertainty
