Academic Achievements
  • Currently involved in several national and international research projects such as SONICOM (developing next-generation immersive audio technologies using AI) and BEARS (helping teenagers with bilateral cochlear implants using a VR-based auditory training approach). Research areas include cognitive sciences, artificial intelligence and image processing, electrical and electronic engineering, information systems, ecology, and clinical sciences.

  • Professor in Spatial Acoustics and Immersive Audio, leading the Audio Experience Design research group at the Dyson School of Design Engineering. His research focuses on spatial acoustics and immersive audio, including perceptual and computational aspects as well as real-life applications. He has worked on projects related to 3D binaural sound rendering, spatial hearing, hearing aids technologies, audio and haptic interaction, and acoustical virtual and augmented reality. Recently, he has also been involved in ecoacoustic monitoring, designing autonomous recorders to better understand the impact of humans on remote ecosystems.
