Research Experience
Professor and Director of the Knowledge Media Institute (KMi) at The Open University, UK, with over 25 years of experience in research and innovation in social computing. Currently coordinating the ClimateSense project, which tackles climate misinformation by analyzing the geopolitical dissemination of false claims about climate issues. Over the years, has led numerous international research initiatives such as CIMPLE (funded by CHEST-ERA) on misinformation explainability, HERoS (EU) on health misinformation, Co-Inform (Horizon Europe) on community resilience to misinformation, and COMRADES (H2020) on misinformation in crisis contexts.
