Was co-director of CBCL (Center for Biological & Computational Learning at MIT); now co-leads the MIT Intelligence Initiative and is the director of CBMM (Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines).

Research interests include the central role of learning in the problem of intelligence, both biological and artificial; focused on understanding how the human brain works and creating intelligent machines.
