Academic Achievements
  • Has co-authored more than 50 conference/journal papers and book chapters. Served as a reviewer for several conferences/journals and in the program committee of several conferences. Participated in several projects funded by the European Commission and the Greek Government.
Research Experience
  • Conducted research at several European institutions such as École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS-Lyon), and the Danish Computer Center for Research and Education (UNI-C) where she was part of the parallel scientific computing group. Received a Marie-Curie European Fellowship at Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, and served as a Maître de Conférences at Université de Versailles, France.
Education
  • Received her B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 1989; M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada in 1990 and 1995, respectively.
Background
  • Her primary research interests are in the areas of Distributed and Parallel Computing, Peer-to-Peer systems, Grid Computing, Computer Networks and Communications, and Internet Technology. Currently, she is a Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Informatics Engineering, Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Crete.
