Published multiple papers, such as 'NeuroScope: Reverse Engineering Deep Neural Network on Edge Devices using Dynamic Analysis' (34th USENIX Security Symposium, 2025), 'D-Helix: A Generic Decompiler Testing Framework Using Symbolic Differentiation' (33rd USENIX Security Symposium, 2024), and more. Received the Best Presentation Award at IEEE UEMCON 2021.
Research Experience
Currently an assistant professor in the CSE Department at PennState and a member of the Institute for Networking and Security Research.
Education
Graduated from Purdue University, where he was part of FRIENDS and PurSec labs under the guidance of Prof. Dongyan Xu and Prof. Dave (Jing) Tian. He also works closely with Prof. Antonio Bianchi.
Background
Research interests include systems and security, particularly in exploring innovative architectures and uncovering critical security vulnerabilities. Specializes in resource-constrained environments, especially embedded systems, which power automotive, industrial control systems, and robotics. Goal is to develop secure by design, efficient solutions for these cutting-edge technologies.
Miscellany
Apart from being a security researcher, he likes to travel and hike, having visited most of Northern Pakistan and various places around the US. When indoors, he enjoys playing games (achieving an ELO of 1700+ in Age of Empires using unconventional methods), learning new instruments, and making music.
