Academic Achievements
Published several papers on machine learning and plant phenotyping. Part of the PhenomUK-RI project led by Tony Pridmore.
Research Experience
Participated in the enrichment program of The Alan Turing Institute. Lead developer of the Phenotiki Analysis Software, which combines computer vision and machine learning algorithms to analyze rosette plants.
Education
Obtained a Ph.D. from IMT School For Advanced Studies Lucca, supervised by Prof Sotirios A Tsaftaris, based at the University of Edinburgh.
Background
Assistant Professor in Computer Vision at the University of Nottingham. Research interests include machine learning and plant phenotyping, particularly neural networks and Restricted Boltzmann Machines (RBMs).
Miscellany
Excellent programmer with knowledge in several programming languages. Participated in different scientific summer schools such as the International Computer Vision Summer School (ICVSS) and the Medical Imaging Summer School (MISS), which have been great motivations towards his scientific career.
