- Funding for New Century Excellent Talents in University (2011); the "Kun-Xue-Shou-Wang" Award for Excellence in Teaching (2012); Operations Research & Application Award by Operations Research Society of China in 2016; Youth Innovation Award by China Society for Computational Mathematics in 2017. Published several papers such as 'An algorithm for ordinal classification based on pairwise comparison', 'Function representation based slicer for 3D printing', etc.

Professional Field: Applied Mathematics. Biography: Prof. Yang has been working on geometric modeling and processing, optimization methods and their applications in sparse recovery. He also has a particular interest in the integration of optimization, machine learning, and statistics for solving big data problems.
