Published over 200 articles in SCIE journals such as IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, and IEEE Communications Magazine. Participated in seven EU-funded projects (mostly as an institutional coordinator) and more than twenty national projects. Regularly ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (Career Impact DB) by Stanford University in the subfield of Networking & Telecommunications since 2020.
Research Experience
Has been leading the Department of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science since 2013. Also served as the department chair of Big Data Analysis Lab at IT4Innovations | National Supercomputing Centre from 2017 to 2023.
Education
Graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB-Technical University of Ostrava in 1995. Received a Ph.D. in Telecommunications in 2002; his thesis focused on 'Voice traffic optimization with regard to speech quality in the network with VoIP technology'. Passed the habilitation process in 2009.
Background
Research interests include IoT, QoS/QoE, wireless networks, network security, and big data analytics in networks. Holds a Ph.D. and was appointed as a Full Professor in Electronics and Communications technologies in 2017.
