Led over 30 projects funded by EU, Academy of Finland, NSFC, MOST, and telecom industry. Supervised over 180 post-doctoral researchers and graduates. Published more than 450 papers, with 298 first and corresponding authorships, including 16 highly-cited ESI papers. Authored two books on trust management. Invented over 150 patents (including 83 independent international inventions), some of which have been incorporated into international standards. Delivered over 40 invited keynote speeches and talks at international conferences and leading companies. Google Scholar citations are about 20,000 with an H-index of 70. Recognized as a Stanford World Top 2% Scientist since 2019, an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher since 2020, and a ScholarGPS World Top 0.05% Highly Ranked Scholar - Prior Five Years (2024). Awarded many honors, including Distinguished Inventor of Nokia, N²Women Star in Computer Networking and Communications, IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing, and more.
Research Experience
Worked as a senior researcher at Nokia Research Center, Helsinki from 2000 to 2011; served as a visiting professor and a Finnish Academy Fellow at Aalto University, Finland for over seven years.
Education
Received B. Eng in electrical engineering and M. Eng in computer science and engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1994 and 1997; M. Eng in information security from National University of Singapore in 2000; Licentiate of Science and Doctor of Science in Technology in electrical engineering from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) in 2005 and 2007.
Background
Research interests include information security and privacy, trust modeling and management, trusted computing, cloud computing security, 5G/6G security, etc. Currently a Huashan Distinguished Professor at Xidian University, an External Member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, and a Fellow of IEEE, IET, AAIA, and AIIA.
