As a PhD student at Dartmouth College, currently engaged in research work related to learning theory and optimization.
Education
Ph.D in Computer Science, Department of Computer Science, Dartmouth College, 2024.9-present, advised by Prof. Yaoqing Yang; B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Department of Mathematics, South China University of Technology, 2020.9-2024.6.
Background
Currently a second-year PhD student at Dartmouth College. Research interests include both classical learning theory problems (such as Rademacher Complexity, Covering Number, PAC-Bayesian, etc.) and recently emerging theory problems (primarily focusing on the statistical and optimization properties of large-scale deep neural networks). Current research focuses on investigating non-vacuous and theoretically interpretable metrics for data/model statistical complexity in neural networks training, and analyzing the loss landscapes of large-scale neural networks (like CNNs, Transformers, etc.) and the behavior of optimization algorithms under specific loss landscapes.
Miscellany
A food enthusiast who loves both eating and cooking. Enjoys preparing a hearty dinner after a busy work schedule and then rewarding himself with a game of StarCraft II.
