Background
Research interests span across deep learning, efficiency and robustness, and their applications. Before joining UCD, he was a research scientist at Google DeepMind (previously Google Brain), working on multi-task deep learning as well as its applications in recommendation systems, natural language processing, and computer vision.
Miscellany
From Tianjin, China; has two cats and one dog; practices Kendo; loves snowboarding, archery, surfing, ice skating, and probably any sports that don't involve round objects; enjoys all genres of music and collects musical instruments; lives in the awesome city of San Francisco; practicing OMAD (one meal a day) and accepts the fact that most human social behaviors involve intaking food/drinks; treats cooking of seafood, beef, and all other different dishes seriously; may say yes to requests easily but mentally rejects all of them.
