Involved in multiple research projects such as knowledge-based neural question generation, optimizing data migration, etc. Published numerous journal and conference papers, and holds patents. Has received awards including NSERC Discovery Accelerator Supplement (DAS) Award, Research Leaders Award from York University, among others.
Research Experience
Worked as a post-doctoral fellow and later as a research assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo from 1997 to 2001; joined the Department of Computer Science (now named Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) at York University in July 2001.
Education
Obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Regina.
Background
Research interests include data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. Currently a Professor and Tier 1 York Research Chair in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University.
