Research Experience
  • Currently a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Visualization and the Director of Research at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Bangor University, UK. Leading the XReality, Visualization and Analytics (XRVA) Lab, which is part of the Human-Centred Computing research group. Since April 2022, a Visiting Fellow in the School of Digital, Technology, Innovation and Business at the University of Staffordshire. Previously, a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Chester, UK (2015/16), a post-doctoral researcher at the School of Computer Science, Bangor University, UK (2011-2015), and a software developer with Intracom Telecom S.A., Greece (2007-2011).
Education
  • Completed his PhD in the Vision and Synthetic Environments Laboratory at the University of Essex in 2006.
Background
  • Research interests include human-computer interaction, mixed and virtual reality, information visualization, and visual analytics. Particularly interested in potential synergies between these fields within different flavors of human-data interaction, such as beyond-the-desktop visualization, and ubiquitous, situated, and immersive analytics.
Miscellany
  • Actively contributes to the scientific community as a reviewer for journals and international conferences, and serves on various program committees of scientific events. Member of the EPSRC Peer review college, an expert reviewer of grants, projects, and tenders for the European Commission, and the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI), Greece. Also a member of the IEEE, ACM, and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
