Contributed to several publications including ICLR'24, arXiv'24, ICML'25.
Research Experience
Worked as a machine learning intern at Apple during the summer of 2021, where he developed self-supervised deep learning models for signals from wearable devices; currently leads efforts in developing multi-modal foundation models for health as a senior machine learning scientist.
Education
Received a BSc in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Economics from Sharif University of Technology in 2015; MSc in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and completed his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Maryam Shanechi in 2022. His doctoral research focused on developing unsupervised deep learning methods to improve brain-machine interfaces and understand the brain.
Background
A senior machine learning scientist focusing on developing multi-modal foundation models for health. Main research interests include deep representation learning and all stages of foundation model development such as dataset curation, pre-training, post-training, and evaluations.
Miscellany
Spends free time working out, playing/watching soccer, traveling, reading books, or getting lost in 3-hour YouTube rabbit holes.
