Academic Achievements
Proposed the first solution to combine iris biometrics and cryptography; designed several cryptographic protocols including AV-net, YAK, J-PAKE, Open Vote network, DRE-i, DRE-ip, and SEAL; found and fixed security weaknesses in SPEKE; J-PAKE protocol has been widely adopted and standardized; awarded ERC starting grant and ERC Proof of Concept grant.
Research Experience
Worked in the security industry for six years before joining Newcastle University Computing Science as a lecturer in December 2010, then became a reader in 2014 and a professor in 2018, before moving to his current position.
Education
PhD from the Security Group, Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, under the joint supervision of Prof Ross Anderson and Prof John Daugman.
