Academic Achievements
Received a £310,646 award from the UKRI Metascience unit to track research trends and assess UK competitiveness against global competitors; participated in a Dagstuhl Seminar focused on Open Scholarly Information Systems; served as Event Coordinator for SEMANTiCS 2025 and will be General Chair for SEMANTiCS 2026; gave invited talks and webinars at various conferences.
Research Experience
A Research Fellow and Associate Lecturer at the Knowledge Media Institute (KMi) of The Open University, working on novel AI solutions to analyse scholarly data; created several systems used by publishers and research organisations such as the Computer Science Ontology (CSO), CSO Classifier, and Augur; collaborates with international institutions including the University of Cagliari, Stanford University, the University of Hannover, and Springer Nature.
Background
Research interests include metascience, AI policies, forensic scientometrics, research culture, and research impact. Currently focusing on exploring the potential of Large Language Models in supporting the analysis of scientific knowledge, specifically how these models can be augmented with domain knowledge to facilitate a deeper understanding of scientific content and provide enhanced support to researchers and practitioners.
