- Nominated as an Associate Editor for IEEE TPAMI in 2025; edited textbook 'Analyzing Deep Learning' (2nd edition) selected as a recommended textbook by the China Computer Federation in 2025; served as an Area Chair in CVPR 2026; two papers accepted by ICCV 2025; one paper about deep supervised hashing accepted by IJCV; two papers accepted by ICML 2025; nominated as an Associate Editor for IEEE TIP in 2025; one paper about long-tailed recognition accepted by IJCV; released a PyTorch-based library 'Hawkeye' for fine-grained recognition; released a PyTorch-based library 'PyRetri' for unsupervised image retrieval.

- Currently a Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Southeast University. From Jun. 2020 to Oct. 2023, served as a Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology. From Oct. 2017 to Jun. 2020, served as the Founding Director in Megvii Research Nanjing, Megvii Technology.
Education
- Obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 2014 and 2018 from LAMDA Group at Nanjing University, advised by Prof. Zhi-Hua Zhou and Prof. Jianxin Wu, respectively. Was a visiting scholar in Prof. Chunhua Shen’s group at UoA, Australia, from Oct. 2016 to Oct. 2017.
Background
- Research interests span several fields, including Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Embodied AI, and AI4Science. Focuses on fine-grained visual analysis, few-shot learning, open dynamic environment recognition, and integrating physical commonsense with visual information.
