In the lab, we are working on the following research topics:
- Trustworthy AI: Making modern computer vision systems using machine learning techniques trustworthy, focusing on Adversarial attack and defence techniques, Reliability, and Fairness.
- Cancer Detection: Developing models specifically for the Indian population.
- Mobility: Developing computer vision techniques for driving assistance and autonomous driving systems in the Indian context.
- Egocentric Vision: Working on computer vision applications from body worn egocentric cameras.
- Solving problems with social impact.
Background
Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi, and a joint faculty with Yardi School of AI and ANSK School of Information Technology. Research interests include Trustworthy AI, Cancer Detection (focusing on automated detection of Breast and Gall Bladder cancer for Indian population), Mobility (developing computer vision techniques for driving assistance and autonomous driving systems in the Indian context), Egocentric Vision (applications arising out of body worn egocentric cameras to understand the wearer attributes and social life from daylong videos), and Problems with Social Impact (developing camera-based wearable devices as mobility assistants for visually impaired, recovering text from document images in real-life scenarios for e-governance).
