Research Experience
Member of KIOS since 2008 as a PhD student, and since 2011 as a Research Associate. Leading various open-source research tools (such as the EPANET-MATLAB Toolkit), and the design of benchmarks. Co-organized the international competition “Battle of the Leakage Detection and Isolation Methods” (BattLeDIM) in 2020. Coordinated national and European projects such as CyRIF WaterAnalytics and CyRIF Domognostics+. Technical Coordinator in various European projects, including Interreg Greece-Cyprus SmartWater2020, H2020 PathoCERT, an SME Instrument, and two ERC PoC projects. Also coordinated industrial projects within the KIOS Innovation Hub, such as the OCEANOS platform for the Water Board of Limassol. During the first wave of COVID-19, served as the technical coordinator for developing the national information management platform for handling COVID-19 cases.

Diploma (2004) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece; MSc (2005) in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland; PhD (2011) in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus.

Main research area: Smart Water Networks modeling, monitoring, and security, aiming to reduce water losses, safeguard water quality, respond to contamination events, and increase cyber-physical security.
