Published multiple papers, including MMTU: A Massive Multi-Task Table Understanding and Reasoning Benchmark, TwT: Thinking without Tokens by Habitual Reasoning Distillation with Multi-Teachers’ Guidance, etc. These papers will be presented at NeurIPS 2025, EMNLP 2025, ACL 2025, and other conferences.
Research Experience
Since 2017, he has been a researcher at Microsoft Research Asia and is currently a Principal Researcher in the DKI (Data, Knowledge, Intelligence) Group. He has contributed to projects such as domain-specific LLM training in Excel Copilot, semantic data analytics in Excel spreadsheet intelligence, and the design and implementation of Forms Ideas AI system.
Education
From 2008 to 2012, an undergraduate at the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University; from 2012 to 2017, a PhD student at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences (IIIS) and a member of the Netman Group, advised by Thomas Moscibroda and Dan Pei. His PhD work used big data science & machine learning to characterize campus life, including WiFi experience, social-physical interactions, and education.
Background
Research interests include data analytics, natural language processing, large language model reasoning and post-training, network science, and neuroscience. Currently a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research Asia, his work supports core Microsoft products.
Miscellany
Founder of two science and technology related student organizations at Tsinghua: Lab μ Geek Association and Club ε Neuroscience Interest Group. In Lab μ, he led a team of over 50 people in designing, developing, and promoting three popular products—TUNet automatic network manager, Tsinghua Now campus life assistant, and CaμsKit large event services toolkit.
