Named as one of the Voiland College’s inaugural Dean’s Faculty Fellows in 2025; recipient of the Reid Miller Excellence in Teaching Award (tenured faculty category) in 2025; mentored student Shira Feinberg to win the Crimson Award at the WSU annual Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) in Spring 2023; received Distinguished Reviewer Awards at ICSE 2022 and ICSME 2021; paper 'Using Code Reviews to Automatically Configure Static Analysis Tools' accepted for publication in EMSE in 2021.
Research Experience
Currently an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Washington State University, and serves as the Associate Director of the School of EECS and a Voiland College’s inaugural Dean’s Faculty Fellow. Previously worked as a postdoctoral research fellow with Dr. Andrian Marcus at The University of Texas at Dallas.
Education
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal in 2014 under the supervision of Dr. Giuliano Antoniol and Dr. Yann-Gaël Guéhéneuc; M.Sc. in Computer Science from Concordia University in 2008; B.Eng. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Automation from Polytech’Lille in 2006.
Background
Research interests include software engineering, particularly in the areas of software evolution, empirical software engineering, program comprehension, analysis of source code lexicon and documentation, refactoring, patterns, and anti-patterns.
