Was an assistant professor at the Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University; Post-doctoral fellow at the RLAI lab, University of Alberta, working with Mike Bowling and Martha White; Senior developer at Capital One Labs, NY before starting his PhD; Interned with eBay during the summer of 2011.
Education
PhD from the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Shimon Whiteson and Frans Oliehoek; MSc in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University; B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from VNIT, Nagpur.
Background
An AI researcher/engineer with expertise/interest in the problem of sequential decision making. Research interests lie in the field of machine learning, statistics, and decision-theoretic planning, aiming to develop new methods and algorithms that are computationally efficient and enable an agent to behave intelligently to accomplish certain tasks.
Miscellany
Currently focused on developing methods for active perception for tracking people in multi-camera networks. Interested in (deep) reinforcement learning, submodular optimization, and information theory. Also interested in applying learning/planning algorithms to develop systems that can help humans and computers collaborate to accomplish challenging tasks.
