Academic Achievements
  • Recipient of the IJCAI 2025 Research Excellence Award; Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2025; 2020 AIJ Classic Paper Award for the 1991 paper 'Temporal Constraint Networks'; 2013 ACM Fellow; In 2012, solvers by current and former students won first places in all nine categories of the PASCAL Probabilistic Inference Challenge; In 2010, our solvers IJGP and FormulaSampleSearch won first places in two categories each in the UAI Competition; Published multiple books including the second edition of 'Reasoning with Probabilistic and Deterministic Graphical Models' (2019).
