Academic Achievements
  • Awarded by the Italian Association for Enterprises in 2007 for the best example of Public-Private collaboration for establishing a dual BSc program. Involved in several research projects, including the GAUSS project focusing on monitoring and modeling systems of systems and their emergent properties. Recently extended research to include performance and vulnerability of embedded systems.
Research Experience
  • Program co-chair and member of the program committee for international conferences, reviewer for international conferences and journals in the SE field. Collaborated with industry since starting research in computer science. Coordinator of the university consortium and the European Masters Program in Software Engineering (EMSE), funded by the Erasmus Mundus programme, and director of the MSc program in Software Engineering for Information Systems. Established a makerspace at the Faculty of Computer Science, which has now become a FabLab for the entire university.

  • Visiting researcher at Max-Planck Institut für Mathematik in Bonn, Germany, and at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Founded and coordinated the research group in Software and Systems Engineering (SwSE) at the Faculty of Computer Science from 2014 to 2017.
