Previously, he was an IAIFI fellow at the NSF AI Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions, affiliated with MIT Center for Theoretical Physics and Harvard Physics Department.
Education
Received undergraduate degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Hong Kong in 2016; graduated with a Ph.D. in Physics, along with master’s degrees in Mathematics and Physics, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2021.
Background
Di Luo is an Assistant Professor at UCLA. His research interests include the AI+Quantum field, focusing on developing machine learning and quantum algorithms for scientific discoveries, as well as designing new theories and frameworks for AI and robotics inspired by mathematics and physics. He aims to understand nature from the perspectives of information and computation, and to develop intelligence inspired by ideas from nature.
