Academic Achievements
- Has authored over 400 papers in international conferences and journals, with more than 30,000 citations and an H-Index of 61. Recipient of the prestigious “Jan Koenderink Prize” for fundamental contributions in computer vision. Awarded the highly competitive Academy Research Fellow position by the Academy of Finland (2013-2018) and a very prestigious international award within the 100-Talent Program (Outstanding Visiting Professor) of Shaanxi Province, China.
Research Experience
- Serves as a researcher in multiple research centers, such as the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Policy, and the Center for Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science. Participated in various European projects, playing a key role in several of them.
Education
- Received his Doctor of Science in Technology degree in electrical and information engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland, in 2005.

- Research interests include physics-informed machine learning, forecasting, computer vision, deep learning, artificial intelligence, internet of things, and personalized healthcare. Currently, a Professor and PI of a CHAIR on Artificial Intelligence at Sorbonne University of Abu Dhabi.
