Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) through the OIDLITDSM project in the field of AI. Located at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR), Heidelberg University, and affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Heidelberg University.
Research Experience
The group advances AI techniques for neuroimaging analysis by integrating multiple modalities of brain imaging data, aiming to improve early diagnostic accuracy and contribute to personalized monitoring tools for disease progression.
Background
The research focuses on two main directions: developing a mathematical foundation for understanding the design, training, and operation of deep learning models, particularly RNNs; and using AI techniques to analyze and develop numerical algorithms for approximating solutions to PDEs.
Miscellany
In addition to theoretical advancements, the team will apply their methodological tools and results across various fields including neuroscience, weather/climate, economics, engineering, healthcare, etc.
