Research Experience
  • Develops new technology for studying the brain, performs neuroscience experiments on mice performing memory tasks, and develops new algorithms for analyzing large-scale brain imaging datasets. The approach to studying the brain is heavily influenced by physics and engineering.
Background
  • Professor of the Neural coding and neurodegenerative disease laboratory. Aims to (i) understand how information is encoded, stored in, and retrieved from memory by the mammalian brain; (ii) understand its dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease, and (iii) develop therapeutic approaches to enhance or restore memory circuit function.
