- Submitted paper “Using Analytics on Student Created Data to Content Validate Pedagogical Tools” on arXiv; Presented AI–ALOE’s Project Ivy at the U.S. Defense Chief Learning Officers Council; Presented the In-video tutors poster at the 2023 NSF evaluation for AI–ALOE, Georgia Tech.
Research Experience
- Recently volunteered as a Lead Data Scientist at a non–profit called Harvard in Tech Seattle where led a cross–functional team on developing a novel community–driven product tackling news disinformation from the ground-up. Presented work at AI–ALOE projects.
Education
- Completed Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Miami. As an interdisciplinary U-LINK Predoctoral Fellow, dissertation focused on developing experimentation–based approaches to mitigate harmful fairness and bias issues within end–to–end image classification pipelines to study racial disparities in the criminal justice system and automated DL–based methodologies.
Background
- Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Georgia Tech. Leads two teams at AI–ALOE working on large–scale problems intersecting AI–based personalized learning and Education for online adult learners. Background is in applied Responsible AI aimed at mitigating harmful bias–related issues within end–to–end deep learning (DL) pipelines in domains like computer vision and natural language processing.
