- Published multiple papers in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, The Visual Computer, Pattern Recognition; has been the vice-chair of Technical Committee 2 of the International Association of Pattern Recognition since 2021; two papers accepted at ICLR 2025 and CVPR 2025.

- Visited the Computer Science Department of the University of York (UK) from March to September 2012, under the supervision of Prof. E. R. Hancock; worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham (UK) from June 2013 to July 2015, led by Prof. Mirco Musolesi; was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Geography, University College London (UK) from June to July 2015; held Lecturer/Assistant Professor positions at Aston University (UK), Southern University of Science and Technology (PRC), and Queen Mary University of London (UK).
