Resume (English only)
Academic Achievements
  • Developed numerical methods to simulate flow in porous media with embedded transport networks during his PhD and successfully applied this technique to model solute transport in tissue, root water uptake from soil, and in reservoir well modelling. Contributed new algorithms and tools to the open-source simulation framework DuMux.
Research Experience
  • Since 2025, Project researcher, Scientific Computing & Numerical Analysis, Simula; 2020-2024, Scientia II MSC fellow, Mechanics, Dep. of Mathematics, University of Oslo; 2020-2024, Guest researcher, Scientific Computing & Numerical Analysis, Simula; 2022/23, Guest lecturer, Simulation Technology (SimTech), University of Stuttgart; 2024, Assistant Prof. / Lecturer (temp, spring semester), REALTEK, Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
Education
  • 2020, Dr.-Ing., Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Stuttgart; 2015-2020, Graduate School Simulation Technology (SimTech), University of Stuttgart; 2012-2014, Master of Science, Environmental Engineering, University of Stuttgart; 2009-2012, Bachelor of Science, Environmental Engineering, University of Stuttgart.
Background
  • Research interests: Transport in porous media, mathematical modeling of biological and environmental systems, numerical algorithms for partial differential equations. Bio: Fascinated by porous media because they are everywhere. Using computational methods allows to investigate porous media across scales.
