Developed numerical methods to simulate flow in porous media with embedded transport networks during his PhD and successfully applied this technique to model solute transport in tissue, root water uptake from soil, and in reservoir well modelling. Contributed new algorithms and tools to the open-source simulation framework DuMux.

Background
Research interests: Transport in porous media, mathematical modeling of biological and environmental systems, numerical algorithms for partial differential equations. Bio: Fascinated by porous media because they are everywhere. Using computational methods allows to investigate porous media across scales.
