Academic Achievements
  • Published over 170 papers (including 80+ SIGGRAPH/TOG papers); holds 40+ granted US patents; received Asiagraphics Outstanding Technical Contributions Award (2022) and ACM SIGGRAPH Test-of-Time Award (2024). Some technologies have been integrated into the D3DX library of Microsoft DirectX and licensed to Disney, Weta Digital, L'OREAL, P&G, and adopted by Bungie Studio (credited for light map generation and compression work on Halo 3).
Research Experience
  • Led the graphics group at Microsoft Research Asia; research areas include shape modeling/editing, texture mapping/synthesis, real-time rendering, GPU parallel computing, real-time face tracking, and 3D printing.
Education
  • Received a PhD from Zhejiang University. After graduation, spent six years at Microsoft Research Asia as a lead researcher in the graphics group before returning to Zhejiang University.
