Published over one hundred articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings; received the Medal to the Order of Merit from the Ministry of Interior for supporting Spanish security forces in combating child crime on the Internet (2010); regular reviewer for several international conferences and journals including the Journal of Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems; currently an area editor for the Simulation Modeling Practice and Theory (SIMPAT) journal.

Currently, he is a full professor at the University of Vigo, a member of the Information Technology Group within the Department of Telematics Engineering, and a researcher at the atlanTTic Research Center. He teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in areas such as computer architecture, telematic services, supercomputing, software engineering, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems.
