Research Experience
- Currently a research scientist working on cloud storage at Data Center Technologies (DCT), Data Storage Institute (DSI), A*STAR, and an adjunct faculty at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Formerly a researcher working on adaptive cloud technologies as a member of Software Systems Research Group at NICTA (National ICT Australia). Also a Conjoint Lecturer at School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), The University of New South Wales (UNSW). Prior to joining NICTA, he was a research fellow participating in the epiC (elastic power-aware data intensive Cloud) project as a team leader at National University of Singapore (NUS), under supervision of Prof. Beng Chin Ooi and Prof. Y. C. Tay.
Education
- Obtained the Ph.D degree in computer science from Peking University (PKU) in 2009. Supervised by Professor Yafei Dai and Prof. Bin Cui during his Ph.D study. Received the award of Excellent Ph.D Graduate due to his excellent performance at Peking University.
Background
- Major research interests include cloud storage, cloud data management, large-scale distributed systems, Peer-to-Peer computing and Web 2.0.
