He has completed more than 20 national and provincial-level research projects, including the National 973 and 863 Programs and the major national science and technology project on 'Next Generation Broadband Wireless Mobile Communication Network'. He has published over 100 papers in international journals such as IEEE TIT, TCOM, TSP, TWC, and in international conferences such as ISIT, ICC, Globecom. He has also translated and authored books such as 'Channel Coding: Classical and Modern', 'Channel Coding in 5G Mobile Communications', and 'Multidimensional LDPC Codes and Their Applications'. In 2012, he won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
Research Experience
From 2000 to 2003, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. In 2005, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). In 2008, he was a senior visiting scholar at McMaster University, Canada. Since 2004, he has been a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Telecommunications Engineering, Xidian University, and is currently the leader of the discipline of Communication and Information Systems.
Education
Graduated from the Northwest Institute of Telecommunications Engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Equipment Structure in 1987; obtained a Master's degree in Engineering in 1990. In March 2000, he received his Ph.D. in Communication and Information Systems from Xidian University.
