Currently working on projects related to studying online communication and its influence on our collective opinions, ideas, and human decision making. For example, developing methods to identify controversies or quantifying the effect of language persuasion in online conversations.

Background
Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Technology, Uppsala University, and a member of the Uppsala University Information Laboratory (UU-InfoLab). Also, a founding member of the cross-disciplinary Uppsala University Computational Social Science Lab (UU-CSS). His research interests lie at the intersection of computational social science/social computing, network science, natural language processing, and mechanism design, with a particular focus on applying large-scale digital data analysis techniques to study problems with social implications.
