Academic Achievements
Multiple papers accepted to the DCASE Workshop 2025 and the 2025 AES International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Audio; contributed to projects like vera.ai and presented at the DAS/DAGA 2025 conference; published an article on human and machine performance in counting sound classes in single-channel soundscapes in the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society (JAES).
Research Experience
Since 2025, a tenure-track professor for 'Computational Humanities' at the University of Bamberg; still affiliated with Fraunhofer IDMT as a senior scientist. In his research, he combines techniques from machine learning/deep learning and audio signal processing, focusing on two main application scenarios: Soundscape/DCASE and Music Information Retrieval.

Currently working towards his habilitation degree at Technische Universität Ilmenau.
