Research Experience
  • Since 2025, a tenure-track professor for 'Computational Humanities' at the University of Bamberg; still affiliated with Fraunhofer IDMT as a senior scientist. In his research, he combines techniques from machine learning/deep learning and audio signal processing, focusing on two main application scenarios: Soundscape/DCASE and Music Information Retrieval.
Education
  • Currently working towards his habilitation degree at Technische Universität Ilmenau.
Background
  • Research interests include applications of audio processing for digital humanities research, particularly in the fields of Music Information Retrieval, Soundscape, DCASE, Bioacoustics, and Ecoacoustics.
Miscellany
  • Interviewed for the DLG Podcast Agriculture: BioMonitor4CAP Episode 2, discussing bioacoustic analysis research at Fraunhofer IDMT.
