Academic Achievements
  • He has published over 300 refereed articles in top-tier international conferences and journals, including SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, TKDE, and VLDBJ. He has received several awards, such as the HKBU President's Award for Outstanding Performance in Scholarly Work (2017), the HKBU President's Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching (2018), and the VLDB Distinguished Reviewer Award (2019). He is an Associate Editor for multiple IEEE journals, including IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Big Data, and others. Additionally, he has been recognized as an IEEE Fellow (Computer Society) and is among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University.
Research Experience
  • He has been a visiting scholar at Pennsylvania State University (Summer 2005) and a senior visiting fellow at Fudan University (Winter 2009). Currently, he serves as the director of the Blockchain and FinTech Lab and leads the Database Research Group at Hong Kong Baptist University.
Education
  • He received his PhD in Computer Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2002 and his BEng in Computer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University in 1998. He completed his secondary education at Suzhou High School from 1991 to 1994.
