Research Experience
- She served as a senior research assistant at the VUB for 3 years, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship from the Fund for Scientific Research-Flanders (FWO). Currently, she is a professor in the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Sciences and the Computer Science group of the Engineering Faculty at VUB.
Education
- Graduated from the University of Ghent in 1987 with a major in mathematics and optional courses in computer science. She completed her PhD in 1994 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, collaborating with Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London. Her PhD research was at the intersection of Computer Science (AI), Control Theory (Fuzzy Control), and Mathematics (Numerical Analysis, Stochastic Approximation).
