Published 'Database System Concepts' 7th Edition; has multiple publications listed in DBLP and Google Scholar; served as Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Database Systems (TODS) and IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE).
Research Experience
One of the founders of the DataBlitz main memory database project at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, and also worked on failure recovery, error checking, and fault tolerance issues in main memory databases while at Bell Labs; currently leading several research projects such as DBridge Project, Pyro/PyroJ project, XData project, and BANKS project.
Education
Ph.D. thesis was on deductive databases, focusing on query evaluation and semantics for extensions of Datalog with non-stratified negation, aggregation, and non-ground/structured data.
